Tax Technician, Compliance

A full-time role in Toronto for an experienced Tax Manager focusing on planning and reorganizations. Responsibilities include leading tax strategies, managing client relationships, and mentoring staff. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

As a Tax Technician, your role will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and filing of various Canadian tax returns (T1, T2, T3).
  • Assisting with the preparation and filing of other compliance filings (T4, T5, T5013, GST/HST returns).
  • Acting as a first point of contact for clients on tax compliance matters
  • Supporting the tax team with responding, on behalf of the Firm’s clients, to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) inquiries, reviews and audits, including collecting supporting information and preparing organized responses.
  • Tracking and monitoring CRA communications to ensure timely follow-up and resolution of client matters.
  • Staying up to date on the latest tax legislation, CRA guidance, and administrative practices to support our compliance practice and provide meaningful and proactive advice to clients

Qualifications

  • Any public accounting experience, with a focus on Canadian tax compliance, is highly valued.
  • Completion of a diploma or advanced diploma in Accounting
  • Proficiency in CaseWare, TaxPrep, Ask BlueJ, CCH Wolters Kluwer, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
